Baladoor and Salute collide on 14 August
There is a saying that when elephants fight, grass suffers. The much expected
movies Baladoor and Salute are going to release on the same day 14 August.
Initially the producers had an amicable understanding that Baladoor would be
releasing on 15 August and Salute will release on 14 August. D Suresh Babu
produces Baladoor and he also distributes Salute in four areas. But all of a
sudden, the date of Baladoor was announced as 14 August. We have to wait and see
who is going to have an upper hand in this collision.

Chiru's Chandiyagam at Kanchi
Megastar Chiranjeevi is going to perform the two-day sacred Chandiyagam at the
temple of Goddess Kamakshi at Kancheepuram, on August 21 and 22. Temple priest
Natana Sastry said that he would personally supervise the auspicious ritual with
50 veda pandits. He said though the yagam would commence on 21st, the actor
would be arriving on 22, but couldn't say at what time exactly. "Chandi Yagam is
meant for getting riches and political power. In the past, the same yagam was
performed by Vajapayee and Rajiv Gandhi," he said.
Parugu turns 100 Days
Allu Arjun's film Parugu today completed its 100 days run. Marking the occasion,
a big cake was cut at Dil Raju's office in Hyderabad. Briefing the media, Dil
Raju said that the film registered its 100 days in 54 centers all over the
state. He termed Parugu as harbinger of another hatrick for him, having scored
the first one with – Dil, Arya and Bommarillu. Bommarillu Bhaskar thanked Dil
Raju and said: "For all my success in Telugu film industry, I owe it to Dil
Raju, without whose support I wouldn't have been what I am today. We are
planning one more movie in our combination (self, Allu Arjun and Dil Raju)
soon." Allu Arjun said: "The success of Parugu is real. It also shows the
importance which the family audiences have given to the film."
Sumanth, Charmme launch Helios Contest
Sumanth and Charmme today inaugurated Mr. Fit & Ms. Fit Helios' 2008 Competition
at Helios, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. A gathering of about 400 participants
joined the competition. Addressing the contestants, Sumanth said: "I am thrilled
to be part of Helios gym and taking training here. At a time when fitness mantra
is fast catching up the modern generation, the Helios has aptly launched this
competition. This will go a long way in creating awareness among the public."
Charmme said: "Helios is a boon to the Hyderabadis and more so for the
fitness-savvy people in the film and sports sectors." Director of the gym M.
Chandrasekhar Reddy said that he would continue render the best of the services
in the fitness area to the members. The competition would continue for the next
four days. The final results of the winners would be announced on the last day.
The Competition includes tests in various aspects of fitness like cardiovascular
fitness, endurance, stamina, muscular strength and flexibility for the members
from various backgrounds like corporate, housewives, businessmen, stars, youth
etc.
Tirupati MLA in CM's film
Tirupati MLA Venatramana is doing the role of Police commissioner in Visu Films'
project, starring Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy as the reel CM. The
legislator took part in the shooting for a couple of days at Ramanaidu Studios,
alongside comedian Brahmanandam and actress Veda. He said that he felt at joy
acting in this film, which projects Dr. YSR in the prime role. Venkatramana, a
close associate of Dasari, holds good aesthetic sense having worked in several
stage plays and doing small roles in some films.
Hero Sushanth's big dream
Nag's nephew and hero Sushanth expressed his desire to act in the films of NTR,
Kalyanram and Prabhas. He was at Pulivendula to attend the marriage function of
a family friend. After wishing the couple, he spoke to the media and said that
it he didn't have any limitations to work as solo hero, but ready to act with
big stars, given an opportunity. "My grandfather ANR is an unending source of
inspiration to me and mavayya gari (Nag) films always fascinate me. My first
preference is to do romantic movies." When asked about his interest in state
politics, he said it was least bothered about the area.
